Static Residential Proxies:

  • What They Are: These proxies are fixed IP addresses that do not change (unless you request a swap) and come from residential Internet Service Providers, such as AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, etc.

  • Best For: Activities where appearing as a regular user is crucial, such as accessing geo-restricted content or websites with strict anti-bot measures. Works best for account management on social media and other platforms where the IP associated with the account should not be changed.

  • Pros: Less likely to be detected and blocked as they appear as real user connections. Not limited by traffic, threads, or number of requests like rotating packages.

  • Cons: Usually more expensive than datacenter proxies.

Static Datacenter (DC) Proxies:

  • What They Are: These proxies provide a fixed IP address from a Data Center, meaning the IP address remains the same during the whole period of usage (unless you request a swap).

  • Best For: Tasks that require consistent IP addresses or where IP rotation isn’t crucial. Such proxies work best with websites that do not use advanced anti-bot security systems or do not restrict multiple requests from the same IP address.

  • Pros: Much cheaper than residential proxies, but still stable and reliable for specific tasks. Not limited by traffic, threads, or number of requests like rotating packages.

  • Cons: More easily detected and blocked by websites compared to residential proxies.

Backconnect Rotating Residential Proxies:

  • What They Are: These proxies automatically rotate at set intervals or with every new request (depending on your settings) and give you access to a large residential pool of proxies at the same time.

  • Best For: When you need both IP rotation and the appearance of a real user, such as for large-scale data extraction or for accessing services with strict anti-bot protections.

  • Pros: Combines the benefits of IP rotation with the less detectable nature of residential IPs.

  • Cons: Typically the most expensive option, but highly effective in avoiding detection.

Backconnect Rotating Datacenter (DC) Proxies:

  • What They Are: These proxies automatically rotate at set intervals or with every new request (depending on your settings) and give you access to thousands of datacenter proxies at once.

  • Best For: High-volume scraping tasks, that is when you need to make multiple requests at high speed without getting blocked, and when IP rotation is essential.

  • Pros: Helps to avoid detection and blocking by constantly changing IP addresses. Much cheaper than residential rotating packages.

  • Cons: Can be more complex to set up than static proxies and, unlike residential rotating packages, might not be enough for scraping or accessing some websites with strong bot protection.

How to Choose:

  1. Determine Your Main Requirement for Stickiness:

    • Fixed IP vs. IP Rotation: If you need a consistent IP address, go for static proxies. If you need IPs to change regularly (e.g. to avoid blocks or bans during data scraping), choose rotating proxies.

  2. Consider Detection and Blocking Risks:

    • Residential vs. Datacenter: If you need to appear as a regular user or need to bypass stricter anti-bot systems, residential proxies (static or rotating) are generally better. For less critical tasks, datacenter proxies might suffice.

  3. Evaluate Your Budget:

    • Fixed IP vs. IP Rotation: When you buy static proxies you only pay for the number of proxies you buy. You DON'T pay extra for traffic, threads, number of requests made, etc. Static proxies are truly unlimited as long as your usage is reasonable. Moreover, the per IP price decreases with the volume.

When you buy a rotating package, you select a price package based on the number of requests you can send from it. We also provide packages where you can pay by consumed traffic or a number of simultaneous connections for certain use cases. Contact us if you want to discuss this.

    • Residential vs. Datacenter: Datacenter proxies are cheaper than residential proxies. Residential proxies are more expensive but offer the highest level of anonymity and effectiveness. This is true for both static and rotating packages.
